After over half a century in the business, our Managing Director, David Pinnick, known affectionally as DP, is retiring at the beginning of 2025. Having started his career in the mid-1970s with Stickley and Kent, he joined with Geoff Hotblack in 1979 and opened Hotblack Desiato in Camden in 1984. Geoff and David went their separate ways soon afterwards with David retaining the Camden office and Geoff the Islington and Hampstead Garden Suburb branches. In 1998 David, Stuart Shiers & the new MD elect, James Blissett, acquired the Islington office from Geoff when he retired.
David has overseen the diversification of the firm into a strong local Lettings agent, the opening of a thriving branch in Highbury, and we are proud to have a legacy of weathering all the economic storms and challenges that, over the years, have seen lesser agents either disappear or be swallowed up by corporates.
David leaves to pursue varied other interests and of course spend time with his children and grandchildren. We will miss his wisdom and guidance, and all wish him a fantastic retirement.
The remaining equity partners, Jake Perkins, James Blissett, and Stuart Shiers, have added to their number with David’s daughter Jessica heading up the Lettings department, and long-standing director Alasdair Macdonald as her counterpart in Sales. We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Fairbairn as a new Associate Director in Highbury .
Exciting times lie ahead. We very much look forward to growing the company and taking it to new heights while not forgetting the ethos and work ethic that David has instilled in the firm that has brought us to where we are today.
