    The main method of public transport is from Hornsey Overground train station on the Great Northern rail link. This offers local resident a 30 or 40-minute commute to central London.

    For Underground services, travel from the train station takes about 15 minutes to Moorgate tube station. The nearest Underground station to Hornsey is Turnpike Lane on the Piccadilly line.

    There are also some good bus routes in Hornsey that take you to Trafalgar Square, Finsbury Park, and Tottenham.

    Alexandra Park is the largest green area in the neighbourhood. This is an 80-hectare park with tree-lined pathways, views over London, and sporting facilities. There is also a farmer’s market at the foot of Muswell Hill.

    You don’t have to travel far from Hornsey to find something to do. There are a number of great restaurants and pubs in Hornsey that are mostly located around the High Street. Here you can find restaurants and cafes serving Asian food, Italian and French cuisine, and Middle-Eastern inspired meals.

    The most popular place for a drink in Hornsey is the Great Northern Railway Tavern. This is in a stunning Grade II listed building in a neo-Jacobean style. There are also a number of trendy bars and pubs.

    There are a few good schools in Hornsey offering primary and secondary education. The most popular primary school is St Mary’s CE Primary. This has been rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted. There are more primary schools in Crouch End just to the south of Hornsey.

    A popular secondary school is Greig City Academy for boys and girls. The standard of education at Greig City Academy has improved tremendously and this has received a ‘good’ rating by Ofsted.
