    Over the past few years, Holloway has undergone a regeneration with many new housing developments and conservation areas. The area of Holloway is dominated by Victorian terraces and Georgian townhouses, many of which have been converted to flats. Property prices to buy or rent in Holloway are generally lower than nearby Islington and Highgate.

    Around the Emirate’s Stadium, new-build properties mean that in the past 10 years around 2,000 new homes have been built. Also, Victorian and Georgian home conversions, as well as modernisation of ex-council flats, means that there are properties to suit most people’s taste and budget.

From Holloway, it is approximately a 30-minute commute to the City.     There is also a good choice of over ground trains from Upper Holloway that provide a fast travel time to central London.

    Although there are few green spaces in Holloway, local residents are a very short journey away from some of the best open spaces in London. Hampstead Heath is one mile away and this large 790-acre park that has walks, woodlands, and amazing views over London.

    People living in Holloway are also close to Highgate Cemetery, Finsbury Park, Highbury Fields, and Gillespie Park which all provide a measure of peace and tranquillity away from busy city life.

    Families with school-age children can choose from a many excellent primary and comprehensive schools offering high-quality education.

    For example, primary schools rated as “outstanding” by Ofsted are Grafton, St John’s Highbury, Yerbury, and Gillespie.

    There is a total of 6 comprehensive schools offering secondary education that have been rated as “good”. Some of these are also co-ed comprehensives. Also, Highbury Grove, The Camden School for Girls, and St Aloysius College have “outstanding” ratings by Ofsted.

    The main hub of activity in Holloway centres around the Nag’s Head crossroads where there is a large shopping centre. The Nag’s Head shopping centre has many high-street brands as well as the usual selection of cafes.

    However, Holloway Road isn’t all about big-name brands. You will also find local fishmongers, butchers, and florists.
